The lion is the strongest of the big cat family. Ages ago, lions lived,
in places like Europe and the Middle East but thousands of them were hunted
down and today lions can only be found in Africa and India.
Lions live in small groups called prides and rather than dense forest,
they prefer to live in open grasslands and savannahs. For food, they hunt animals
like deer, somber and Zebras. Lions are skilled hunters and as they have very big
appetites, they tend to walk over 8km a day in search of prey.
The male is much bigger than the female which is known as a lioness.
The male develops a ring of bushy hair around his head and neck. This is called a mane.
Lionesses produce 2-3 cubs at a time and are keener on hunting than the males.
These majestic cats live up to about 20-25 years.

I lived in a shop in Balangoda town. One day a middle aged lady came and asked for a fountain pen. Then the servant accompanied lady near the showcase. There were many brands of us. They are parker, pallor, cross, watermen and chaotic. I am the waterman. I am gold color with red. She bought me and wrapped. Next she put me in her hand bag and Wend to a small house. There were many children, elder and younger all were gathering a little girl. They all wished her singing a song happy birthday……. Next they presented. I also was given as a gift. The small girl liked me very much. She showed me to her friends. She opened me and but in some ink. I help her to write fine letters. There fore she won the first places in the hand wring competition and in essay competition so I am very proud of me.

I have a pet. It is a dog. I got it on my birth bay. As a present from my uncle. Then it was a small pup. But now it is a big. It has a long fur. It is white. It has a long tail. It likes meat very mush. It does not eat rice without meat. It is very fierce. It bites people. So the people don’t like to come to our house. It doesn’t like to bathe when I say come to bathe. It runs a way. It is very faithful. It waits on the door step till I come when It sees me It comes running it wags its tail and comes with me it is very useful. It guards our house.
